Dinas, the first station along the line, is also home to the railways workshops and loco shed, although these are separated from the public accessible station by the road to Saron, Ty’n Llan. When the reopening of the Welsh Highland Railway began Dinas was as far as the line run for a number of years whilst the restoration to Waunfawr progressed.

It consists of two through platforms together with a bay platform and a number of other sidings. It has a several flower beds, these being at the platform ends or near to the entrance. There are also a number of flower tubs on the platforms.

This station was one of those under the care of the Joint Landscaping Group, however is now looked after by Tym and Eirwen Crowther who tend to the tubs and flower beds etc. General site maintenance and enhancements are again covered by the main volunteer groups.
