One of the main, and probably most popular stations on the railway. As with many of the other stations it has an island platform but this time with two stations buildings, one a building with waiting shelter and a second serving as the operations room but again with waiting facilities. There is also a temporary station building serving as a booking office on the approach to the station.
The station did have the usual flower beds when it first opened, however the local sheep took too big an interest in them so they have since been removed There are now a number of planters on the platform instead together with others in the environs of the station.
The Society’s West Midlands Group co-ordinated by Mike Hadley currently looks after the station and they ensure it’s kept tidy as well as looking after the planters and tending to general maintenance tasks.
