South African Brake Van

The former South African brakevan, which did sterling service during the construction of Phase 4 of the railway is now in desperate need of some attention.
The main jobs are the fabrication and fitting of a new roof (the current one leaks badly and is beyond repair); some maintenance work on the doors and a complete repaint.

There is now an opportunity to do this work undercover in the Carriage Shed at Dinas over the spring/summer whilst one carriage set is based at Porthmadog.
A team leader is needed to take on this task as well as a small dedicated team to get the job done by the end of September.
If you would like to undertake this job or be part of the team please contact me.

Dafydd Thomas - e-mail: dafydd.thomas@festrail.co.uk or telephone 01248 681019.
